Achoo!

With the change of seasons, and this autumn temperatures as changing fashion get respiratory diseases like colds and bronchitis.

Working in an office with 12 people and 2 where classmates get to listen to their melodious Achi, which for them is about grace, for me are moments of terror (the lupus makes you more susceptible to infection) for which I take certain measures :

The first and faster than I thought was to seek to isolate those fallen in battle ... (I think I would have no one for me = /)

The second was to isolate myself in my house and work remotely ... (For the type of work I do, I must be in constant connection to the network and database work and security policies is not given this kinds of connections.)

The latest measure was to prevent the virus from spreading, so buy bottles of anti-bacterial gel with alcohol and tissue to distribute to my colleagues.

Another measure to take that step through my mind was to get a flu shot, to date I have never received even one of these vaccines, so the idea that you tell my dad (a great advantage have a doctor in the house) and I said "NO" because he was taking medications that suppress the immune system and steroids and the nature of the vaccine can cause more complications me that a future benefit, this led me back to Google to satisfy my curiosity in the world of vaccines:

A vaccine is a preparation of antigens that once inside the body causes the immune system recognizes as foreign, destroys them and in many cases remember the time a damaging version of the infection reaches the attack the immune system is prepared to respond.

Vaccines are classified as:

  • live or attenuated vaccines (virus that takes away a bit of virulence).

  • killed or inactivated vaccines.

  • shots of dead or inactive type do not cause any problems for immunocompromised individuals, whereas vaccines type of live or attenuated if, you should be careful with these people and even more if you are with immunosuppressive medication and steroids so you need to be evaluated by your doctor.

vaccines to counter the effects are transient flu, influenza is caused by a virus that has the facility to mutate, the body develops antibodies to be attacked rejecting the visit of this virus, but by mutating the immune system no longer can recognize is so new vaccines always come to protect us.
